RE: (ET) E20 lacking power (Markus Lorch)

Title: Message
oh this is a misunderstanding, the E15 motor that I put in has no vibrations. What remains
the same even after I replaced the motors is the low performance / high current draw. I think
a problem with less than full field voltage that was suggested sounds like a very possible
cause. I'll investigate tonight (after I fixed the crown moulding in the kitchen).

On the E20 motor I took out I found worn down brushes and a bad bearing. I replaced both
and hoped it would solve the problem. Unfortunately the vibrations still remain. The next
possible cause was a slightly sloppy bearing support but I fixed that too with no improvments
on the vibration side. So now I am down to having the armature rebalanced. I am not sure if
I want to do this (right now) as it will be a substantial cost (prob. around $100) and I may be
able to find another motor for that or little more - in time (anybody has one for sale?)

Btw, I am preparing another post with pictures soon that will give the details on the brushes etc -
but in short REPCO turned out to be a good resource, however I have learned that Harold now
also has the brushes for these motors readily available. Also it seems that the E20 and
E15 motors use the same brushes.

Hi
The fact that there is the same vibrate even when the motor is swapped is curious. I am think mechanical not electrical. It is just a though but have you checked the transmission. At least made sure it runs freely and replace the oil.
