Home Power Magazine (I think)  had a pretty good article about making
Battery Cable Terminals out of copper pipe - a bit of cutting, crimping
(using modified bolt cutter), flattening with hammer, Tinning - to protect
copper AND make great contact between copper wire and copper terminal.
