RE: (ET) Using Homelite appliances on Elec-Trak



Umm... those thinking about using 18 or 12 V tools on the ET...

The connector is available.  If you want to use it off 36V, all you need 
to do is add a light bulb in series...  I don't know what the current on 
the Homelight is, but essentially you add a resistance such that (in the 
case of 18V) half the voltage drop is across the light bulb; it has the 
same resistance as the drill, weedeater, whatever.  It doubles the load, 
but I can't imagine anyone drilling until the ET ran down.

I have a 32v drill motor that came with my second e-trac.  the cord is
huge it must be 10awg wire in there at least.  For that reason I'm going
with a rotary inverter and 110v tools.  they're more plentiful and the
wiring can smaller and lighter.
