The two
fibre washers amounts to what could be considered a clutch. It is still quite
possible to bend armature shafts.
The motors
used in the ElecTrak®, from what I have seen, are purpose built for the
application.
The only
noteworthy exception is the Delco® lift motors, which are adapted from driver's
side GM window lift motors.
Most experienced
electric motor shops can handle what ever rewinding needs that you might have.
The only real scary thing that comes to mind is if you have permanent magnet
motors, and the magnets get injured.
Once those are gone,
they are GONE !

Subject: (ET) Fw: Blade Motor |
Clutch?
List,
A couple of quick questions from someone with (no?) little mechanical
experience . . .
1. is there a "clutch" mechanism in the blade motors? (to prevent
damage
if blade hits a rock, etc.?)
2. is the motor (mine is a E15) widely available as a "generic"
part? Or, is
it specific to the ElecTrack, and thus only available
from those suppliers?
3. Who is the recommended source for motor
parts/expertise/etc.?
Thanks,
Jay
