My E20 died when the battery cable that terminates at one end of the current
shunt under the knee panel had turned to copper oxide inside the crimp spade
termination. I suspect that it was a substandard crimp whose end was hastened
by the heat generated by the shunt. Check it out, because the symptoms
paralleled yours.
*Nod* Interesting possibility as this would probably also affect the
reading on the E20's amp meter as well. I'll pull the panel this week
and check it out.
Quiz: How tight should the drive belts be on an E20? One slipped off on
a regen and while I got it back on, they are rather easy to deflect.
