Re: (ET) Used parts - long winded

Jeff's got good points. I'm amenable to anything, and, as I said, I dont
want to undermine Bill.

Jeff's certainly right about the basic implication that it would be
impractical to have Bill, let alone anyone, buy up parts from the
community($ out of pocket for inventory, space, management overhread, and
the paradox, to earth-friendly types, of trucking things TWICE when once,
or not at all, will be typical for a given used part.)

I wouldn't suggest this except to a group of people like the ETers who
seem uncommonly fair and community-minded (at least within the ET
community... maybe we're all jerks in other contexts... haha) I suppose
those who practice protection of long-term self-interest might agree, too.
We could just agree, in rough, general, unenforced, non-voting,
unaccountable terms always to go to Bill first.

I don't mind the idea of Bill as distributor with all of us as
"sub-distributors" for him; kinda cool idea. (We all register parts in a
database, and he can search the database, etc.)

And I'm sure this group will come up with more and better variations.

THEN I had this CRAZY IDEA! What if we ASK BILL what the he'd like to do?!
I don't have much a relationship with him; last part I ordered was a
couple years ago. (5?) I don't think I'm the best guy, but I do have a
bunch of parts and I know there's tractors that need 'em.

Working those beautiful machines,
