Just as electric road vehicles have image problems caused by associations 
with 
golf cars, electric yard tools have a (not entirely undeserved) image of 
being 
feeble by comparison to gas yard tools.  

I'll never forget one trip to the home center store.  I was casually 
looking  
at mowers or something, and a few yards away a couple was heavily into the 
selection process for a string trimmer.  "How about this one?  It's 
electric," 
said the 60-ish, somewhat distinguished looking gentleman.  "'Lectric??  
S**t, 
no, I don' wan' no f***in' 'lectric!" replied his ... uh ... rather 
imposing 
looking female companion, her voice dripping with derision as she 
pronounced 
"'lectric."

The only way to counter this image is to "show 'em" - which we do every 
time 
we use our ETs.
