Re: (ET) New guy in town...
Just as electric road vehicles have image problems caused by associations
with
golf cars, electric yard tools have a (not entirely undeserved) image of
being
feeble by comparison to gas yard tools.
I'll never forget one trip to the home center store. I was casually
looking
at mowers or something, and a few yards away a couple was heavily into the
selection process for a string trimmer. "How about this one? It's
electric,"
said the 60-ish, somewhat distinguished looking gentleman. "'Lectric??
S**t,
no, I don' wan' no f***in' 'lectric!" replied his ... uh ... rather
imposing
looking female companion, her voice dripping with derision as she
pronounced
"'lectric."
The only way to counter this image is to "show 'em" - which we do every
time
we use our ETs.
