Re: (ET) Tractor ride not smooth
The owners manual suggests placing a 1/4 shim under the bolts farthest away from the belt. Pull the motor to tension by hand and tighten the bolts without the shims. Then remove the shim and tighten the other two bolts. This 1/4 movement provides the final tension. It seemed to work for me.

Keep the motor staright in the chassis.
3. Tighten bolts while keeping the pressure on.
It's a bit hard to do by yourself, but possible.
