A linear actuator
strikes me as an excellent idea for some applications - like a dozer blade where
downforce or a "locked" height might be desirable. However, for a front
mounted mower lift, it is probably not the best choise since the strap lift
allows the mower to "float" or rise over mounds or banks, while a linear
actuator (providing no "float") may attempt to force it into the ground.
