Do you have a side discharge mower? This would tend to make you mow with a
lot more left turns than right. Thus putting a greater side load on the
wheels. the inside wheel will try to pull off and the outside will try to
push on.
I haven't taken them apart yet....can they only go on "just so far". If so
then the left wheel would tend to loosen up, because it can (it's an
American thing ;-) ) and the right can't move so it doesn't loosen.
