About as fast as you can discharge them, up to 75 or 80% charged,
providing
you monitor the temperature. You have to throttle back as you approach
the
gassing voltage.
So, you can safely put a few hundred amps into them when they're flat. In
fact there's some evidence suggesting that occasional high current
charging
"hits" are actually good for them, maximizing capacity and and extending
cycle life.
