Re: (ET) Linear actuator

I use a linear actuator as a lift on a dump cart.  Well, to confess, it's really an electric trailer jack, it has a substantial lift capacity, runs on 12 volts, and takes probably 30 seconds to extend.  Because the dump box on my cart (pulled behind ATV with 12 volt system) is balanced on the rear axle, it doesn't have to work very hard to dump it providing it is evenly loaded - I wish I could trade off some weight capacity for a bit more speed (steeper pitch screw).  For a front lift, something like that would work fine, and prbably could use some levers to trade off lift length / weight capacity / speed.

If you didn't run it continuously, I'm sure it would work on 36... but then, if you aren't going to run it a whole lot, why not just tap 4 batteries for a nominal 24V?  I'm not sure how FAST this is either.... I did some thinking on a ball-screw lift and decided against it.

Wow this looks pretty cool, think it would run on 36V? Load capacity of 1300#s. Seems like it could work a lot better then the front lift whihc seems to have a hard time with the snowblower
