I am afraid Bill is our single point of failure. You are not going to be able to get most of the parts for our tractors from any other place. The last time I hauled an ET drive motor into our local electric motor repair place they looked at me like I was from Mars. I guess they thought my GE 36v dc motor was from my space craft. "Sure we repair Electric Motors, just not that kind" Bill had a new larger motor at the same price they wanted just to send my old motor out to be rewound. Bill even took the old burned up motor back and I got a core reimbursement!
Now has anyone tried the plastic blades?

Point well taken; I bought a 'Power-Rated' 3/8" x33" main drive belt from my local hardware last night; main drive for an E12. I would have ordered from Bill, but I needed to run the tractor and didn't want to wait.
Last time I talked to Bill I asked him to look into 'PayPal'. I don't think it would cost him anything and I could order RIGHT NOW. Other might want to encourage him to do so.

Why does so many people want to buy from everybody else. Very simple reasons: (1) Never put all of your eggs into one basket. In the computer biz, this is called "single point of failure". (2) Additional cost & time: If I buy from a local store, I pick up the product, pay, go home. If I buy from Bill, I have to make a long distance call, order, send payment somehow, in that payment also includes an additional cost for shipping, and I have to wait for the product to arrive. There is a big difference. So, in my book, it is _always_ better to buy locally then to order from a far away source, be it an Internet company, eBay, or Bill. I have nothing against Bill, but I don't want to be forced to use him if it costs me more money or more time, and if it means never finding that alternative source -- if I don't find the alternative source (preferrably local), than if&when Bill is unavailable* I'm left stranded with no solution. * note, he could become unavailable for any number of reasons: vacation, sick, disability, gone out of business, death, etc... -Jeremy <----------------------------> mailto:Jeremy Gagliardi com http://Jeremy.Gagliardi.com/ <----------------------------> |
