Re: (ET) field weakening on E15 and moving dirt

In past email exchanges with Mark Hanson, I had the impression that he
went
to 48 volts in part to compensate for the loss of top speed because of
losing the field weakening. I could be wrong about that; ask him.

You might look into a pwm controller built for a shunt golf car motor.
Yamaha makes one, or at least used to. One warning, though: I've read
that
a close match between the motor characteristics and controller
characteristics is appreciably more critical for a shunt / compound
controller and motor pair, than for a series motor setup. I don't know
what
the consequences of a poor match might be; does anyone else?

One final note -- you may find that Mark Hanson is willing to offer
suggestions if you want to modify your ET. I'd contact him and discuss it
before going any further. He seems to really know his stuff.
