He could also buy himself some solar panels and a controller :-)
Side note: One of the EV people here created a nice little electronic
charge
controller for the ET. It replaces the dial, and will regulate the
transformer based on battery voltage to ensure a good charge. Not sure how
it handles the occ equalization that would be needed (the existing charge
method basically always does a charge equilization).
