(ET) lift motor

Sounds like a turn to turn short in the armature, impossible to find
usually without a special fixture.  However, it's not very difficult to
rewind, just be careful in taking down to record where everything goes.
May be a problem getting wire, a suggestion is to rear down the rotor (
not stator) in an old alternator, should be about the right size.

Been there, done that.
