Sounds a little high to me.  Around here, a running but ugly ET will sell 
for $200-350, and a deck for maybe $100-150.  Used batteries might add 
$50-100.  So figure $400-600 for the package.

If you're lucky enough to find one at a garage sale or rusting behind 
someone's barn, often you can have it for free or for just a few bucks.  
But these usually aren't in running condition.

Of course, if there are no other ETs anywhere in your area, it's probably 
worth what the seller can get for it.  And ETs seem to be getting a bit 
more scarce.
