Re: (ET) Re: Buying group

I second David's opinion.

I'm in favor of continuing to support Bill Gunn on proprietary Electrak
parts.

Bill is the one that stuck his neck out untold years ago to buy (as I
understand it)
Wheelhorse (who bought out GE) entire electric tractor parts inventory,
design and
manufacturing drawings, etc.

What we who are using or repairing our Electrak's get is his expertise and
memory
of Electrak problems and solutions. I asked him for replacement brake
parts
for
my E20 and he suggested that I actually use an upgrade kit which provides
greatly
improved braking operation.

I also was missing the rear battery compartment lid, interlock switch and
other items
on my E20 - a 'skeleton' when I bought it, had been used to provide parts
for other
models. The battery box lid arrived - brand new. Bill has been having
some
parts
made to keep our Electraks on the go from the manufacturing drawings.

I purchased a dealer service manual on an Ebay auction a couple of months
back.
The service manuals have more detail and parts lists than the homeowners
manual,
but fall far short of design and manufacturing drawings.

I'm interested in putting my E20 back in operation, not running a parts
business.
I applaud and will continue to support Bill when I need a special part or
help - he
is just a phone call away.

If you are looking for bargain prices, ask Bill if he has a used part. I
had mower
motors, that he rebuilt for me. He had a used mower deck and used rear
electric
lift from a Wheelhorse in his 'junk yard'. I got both for what I felt were
reasonable
prices - likely due to him also rebuilding my motors at the same time.
I'll
be
repainting them along with the tractor, so I didn't care about the red
paint job. The deck and lift seem to be in good condition considering
their
age.
