Rhett, Thanks for the diagram it helped a lot and I think that I am
starting
to understand. But I am still missing something here. I believe that my
E-20
is a compound shunt wound motor(I am not sure if it is cumulative or
diferential) but as I have been wiring it up for a pulse width modulated
controller I notice that what I thought were the field terminals are
separate
from the armature terminals. That doesn't seem to jive with your drawing
if I
am reading it right. Is there a separately controlled field in addition to
the ones you listed on your diagram or is the one you call the shunt
winding
the separate field on my motor? Or am I missing something else? Thanks
