I have never tried to measure the draw bar force from my single-belt E12.
However, I have
skidded 14" x15' logs, and, on one occasion, moved my father's 14,000 lb.
(empty) combine
on a flat concrete floor. I only had to move it 6', and the belt did not
squeal in LL. My guess
is the draw-bar force was less that a ton, but was well beyond what the 3
of us guys present
could move. I have also lifted the front end (without the mower attached)
on a log. Remember,
the old steam locomotives moved hundreds of tons of mass on flat, hard
rails sometimes with
only tens of HP.
