Re: (ET) newbie

Hi Jeff, your message is interesting as I have thought about doing the same thing. I would like to find an elec-trak, but may have to go another way. If you would like a referal, I would suggest you contact John Wayland at "dat1200 europa com" as he converted a garden tractor to electric to use at Stereo Soundoffs and was promptly banned. His tractor os really sharp looking and can really pull as he pulled one of the early Datsun pickups with at least one flat tire about a 1/2 mile and then drove back with his stereo blaring all the way. You have to know John to understand all this, but he does beautiful work. Also, if you would like to see it, go to the website for the "Oregon Electric Vehicle Assn." at "www.geocities.com/motorcity/downs/6058/". I wish you well and let us know what you decide and how you do with your project. Best wishes. Daniel Eyk

I have a Craftsman lawn tractor I want to convert to electric. It has a
hydrostatic transaxle so do I need a controller? Any sources for
inexpensive DC motors, maybe used? It was a 15HP, used with a mowing deck
and snowblower, what size motor is reccomended?
Thanks!!
