I experienced an embarrassing trauma with my E20 DA the last couple of days. Embarrassing trauma? Read on.
We spend winters in Fl and for the last nine years I have taken a 6 pack of batteries to power our (old) 36v golf cart. Upon recently returning this year I did my usual reinstallation, but when I engaged the disconnect...nothing. The fuel gauge never moved :(.
Ok, troubleshooting here, testing there, where is the problem? No lift, no lights, nothing. I just used the two front batteries for voltage testing/continuity, yep voltage here and there. Didn't sleep much, at it again today. Tested for 6 pack voltage, best I could get was 32.8v. Hmm, maybe a terminal is loose or bad battery. Anyway, as I was testing each battery to get to 39-40 this one seemed to be the problem. Closer inspection... oh no, I'm an idiot! I had forgotten to take off the black plastic post cap I put on all the terminals while transporting the batteries. In the somewhat dimly lit garage I hadn't noticed that I had left one on an had put the terminal right over it! Thinking back, I don't recall it even being stubborn. Half are red, easy peazy; half are black, not so noticeable. Yep, bingo, everything sprung to life! Oh my.
