HI,
OK I’ll keep the format old-er school. I thought that I was old school already as my iMac is 11 years old running a 5 year old version of an OS. The odd part was that the file had a .jpeg suffix so I thought it would be OK. Even if it wasn’t, I read that Windows 10 and 11 can open HEIC pics but admittedly didn’t go into all the details as to the steps to make that happen. My understanding is that Android devices can also handle HEIC going back to 2019.

Anyway, Try this new one which I exported from Apple Photos. I’m hoping that email isn’t converting it back to HEIC. I had the email scale down the jpeg file from its “actual" 17MB (HEIC was only 4.2MB) to a “Large” pic of 477KB. If you don’t see it this time, that must be the reason and I will send again after I massage the HEIC to a smaller size in order to create a reasonable jpeg which the email will not have to manipulate.

There was also a question about using the factory side chute. On a normal lawn it would be fine. However, this deck is pretty much a brush cutter which I use in vineyards and other tall grass and the side chute would clog as well. I have no baffles installed and want the grass to get out of the deck as fast, and wherever it can. I found this configuration to work the best for its intended use.

Question on PostImage. First off, I’m admittedly leery of “free” services - especially on the web. Yup, I’m one of those guys that believes that there no free lunch. My question is this. When uploading does the service automatically dumb the pics down to jpegs or would I still need to take the steps to export and possibly shrink the files prior to upload? Thanks for your help as I didn’t see in in their FAQ.

Take care,
Dean

Dean, you may want to send your image in some more standard format than
HEIC, which I think cannot be viewed in the default setup unless you
are on Apple.

I run Linux (AntiX 19, kept reasonably up to date).  On this system, both
Geeqie and Gimp handle heic files with aplomb.

Viewing Dean's pic was a bit inconvenient though. My web browser, Waterfox
Classic, said "Huh. Wuzzat?  Here, I'll download it, and YOU can figure it
out."

So I agree with Ken that it's better to convert or export photos to a
standard format that all browsers know, such as good old jpeg.

I also recommend posting photos on *open* (no login required) filre sharing
websites, rather than attaching them to discussion list messages.

My favorite such critter is postimages dot org.  I'm sure there are others
that are equally good.

As for Dean's brace itself, it looks pretty darn sturdy.
