getting ready for the MIT guild meeting

Ed asked who the liaison person is with Old North. Dale did it for a
while, Ed did it immediately after that. I think over the decades it
mostly has been one of the many tasks of the ringing master, but others
help out. It's not an elected position in the guild constitution, unless
it is and I forgot. We could make it be elected if people want that, I
guess. This is what currently happens:

Old North is a more complicated place than the Advent, due to the
historical site/house of worship duality. For things that are related to
the congregation (weddings, volunteering to serve at coffee hour
(lemonade), stuff like that) the contact person is the church
administrator, Priscilla. [I have signed up to host lemonade on July 20th
as myself, but will talk about ringing if possible]

For issues about the church *building* (lights, plumbing, whatever might
affect us directly) we communicate with Brian, the sexton.

I think there are two separate parts of communicating with the historical
site. For formal things like planning for the Lantern service or other
official events, the main contact person is Catherine Matthews, often cc'd
to Nikki Stewart and the vicar. For short-term tour stuff, it's usually
Julius.

Kat (as ringing master) has been the main person for some of this but
I am cc'd in many exchanges (I think) because I have free time during work
hours and can sometimes answer quickly, and because I've been around for
ages so I have a long-term perspective. Ricky and I both have text
contact with Brian. Julius has at least Ricky's and my phone numbers and
email addresses as well as Kat's, for use when there are Saturday morning
scheduling questions. Many of us also talk to Julius in person, usually
when he is letting us know stuff.

What is missing from this is a way to have us represented in the
congregation's budget meetings, so that they don't forget that we
occasionally want money for stuff. There is no ringer who is also a
member of the congregation currently.

Treasurer's report: The MIT guild is one of the components of Boston
Bellringers, an umbrella organization for bank account purposes. If you
want any info, just ask me.
