Yikes! typo Re: Availability on June 17th and/or July 4th?
Bunker Hill day is *June* 17th, not July (as I typed it in the body of
the email). Thanks to Kathryn for pointing this out. At least I got it
right in the subject line.

Subject: Availability on June 17th and/or July 4th?
Old North is hoping to go along with a National Park Service project to
have ringing at 5 PM on July 17 in memory of the battle of Bunker Hill
(yes, we can be precise and say it happened on Breed's Hill).
That's a Tuesday. Catherine Matthews from the historic site compared it
to the ringing in August 2019 for the 400th anniversary of the middle
passage, as she put it. I reminded her that I had tolled by
myself for that occasion (some AGM attendees rang at the Advent at the
same time). She is OK with the same thing for this time, so we don't need
a full band. I may be out of town. My question is whether we can even get
one person to leave work early or whatever, plus another person in the
room to follow our vague safety rule about not ringing alone. In 2019 I
(to my surprise) had a tourist come up to watch me, so technically I
wasn't alone then, either. He turned out to be well-behaved, not a
hindrance.
Last year on the 4th of July we rang at Old North from 10-11 AM.
They are organizing their program now and would like a yes or no about
whether we can do that again. It's a good time for them. It worked out for
us as well. I know that this year many people will be at camp or
otherwise out of town that day (it's a Friday).
Please let me know about either or both.
