Last of the tickets.
BEMF is drawing to a close. One ticket available. Both concerts at Jordan
Hall.
5 pm the group Acronym. A program of music played at the court of the
Swedish Queen Christiana, Corelli, Scarlatti, Cavalli, others. Chamber
orchestra of strings, harpsichord and theorbo.
8 pm a chamber performance of the opera Alcina, by Francesca Cavalli, the
oldest opera with a female composer.
A chamber performance means no sets, some costumes, minimal props.
Orchestra on stage with the singers. Still works quite well.
