Hi Austin,
It was interesting reading about the Boston towers in the recent Ringing
World.
I am writing to pass on the news of the death of David G Andrews, one time
captain at The Advent, Boston.
David was doing post-doctoral work at MIT during the late 1970s and rang at
Advent at that time. Although he was a somewhat reluctant ringer he was
very capable and told me that he was in fact captain for a short while soon
after ringing started to flourish. Perhaps Geoff Davies and/or other older
ringers would remember him.
David learnt to ring at Ringwood in Hampshire, near to where he retired
about 10 years ago after a career in meteorology at Oxford University.
Unfortunately he had done little ringing in recent years.
