Fwd: Reciprocity Collaborative, well, collaboration!

Hi! This came to me back in May, at a tricky time, and has sadly languished. Would people be interested in this? We would need to both ring something and take part in a “physical representation”. I think the timing is soonish, in that the residency ends sometime this fall.

Thanks,
Ricky

Hi Ricky,

Hope you've been nothing short of swell since we last spoke in March. It seems that summer may finally be here?!

Sue and I are moving through the research stages of our residency at Old North into crafting a performing and a film for the fall/winter. One of our prompts that we're interested in capturing is something we call a 'Pew Slide', and we're intrigued to see overlapping heads in one aisle of box pews from the perspective of the back of the sanctuary. An example can be seen here, and a solo version here

Last Tuesday we opened our process to the public to get fresh eyes and bodies inside of the prompts, and we quickly learned that when the parameters are too wide it becomes less interesting. We'd instead like to directly correlate it with a/some methods (as there are 8 regular sized box pews per aisle!), using slight physical variations of sliding to correlate with the bells ringing. Ideally, we would edit the video so the pew slide would be a physical representation of the method as you're hearing it.

Might the Guild of Bellringers be interested in not only ringing, but sliding, a method for us?! //Happy to connect by phone to explain more if that's easier.

All the best,
jenna
