Fire Escape Rope

The Vestry of the Church of the Advent, having explored a very wide  
variety of options for creating a second egress from the ringing room  
for use in case of fire, has returned to the notion of using a "throw- 
out rope" from the window (the present tilt-in style would be replaced  
with a wider, casement style window) in the anteroom.  If any of you  
have any *particular* knowledge about such "ropes" -- considerations  
for use, sources of supply, etc. -- please forward them to me. There  
are scads of things on the web, so no need to forward a random  
selection; they're just looking for specific knowledge/experience, if  
any of you have some to offer.
