Hi all,
The 30th anniversary of the dedication of the bells at Melrose is coming
up in January. To celebrate (and, of course, do a little PR), we are
planning a 2.5 day event starting Friday evening, January 30, and
continuing into Sunday, Feb 1.
Although this comes right on the heals of the Philadelphia weekend, we
hope that folks will be able to attend. I'm not sure what info will get
into the Clapper, so if the list members could please help circulate
information at your local towers (at least in the North East and Mid
Atlantic), it would be greatly appreciated.
Tentative Schedule (certain to change a bit as plans firm up)
Friday, Jan 30
5:00pm - 8:00pm General Ringing
Saturday, Jan 31
9:30am Service Ringing
10:30am Celebration service in chapel
11:30am Dedication quarter peal
12:00pm Luncheon at Melrose
1:00pm Open House - tower tours ...
2:00pm Quarter Peals and General Ringing (depending on interest)
6:00pm dining at local restaurants
Sunday, Feb 1
10:00am Service Ringing (??)
10:30am Service (??)
11:30am General Ringing
12:30pm Quarter Peal (others lunch at local restaurants
1:30pm Open House and tower tours
2:00pm General Ringing
4:00pm End of Celebration
We are currently planning a fee of $20-$25 per person for the luncheon and
general refreshments.
We'll be putting up additional information at
http://melrose.changeringing.org, including info on lodging, schedule
updates, quarter peal info, and directions.
It would be a great help if anyone who is likely to come could send me an
email. If you have some idea which days you will be here, that will help
even more. I will be forwarding information to Lynn Kodrich as well, who
will be coordinating the ringing.
