The practices could either be mid-afternoon, or evening, avoiding ON and Advent ringing, and depending on people's preference.

I'm looking for some helpers for practices with the Groton students on March 8 and March 9 afternoons or evenings.  I was hoping to bring the students to the March 8 Old North practice, but it turns out they have classes that day.

I'm aware that there are two conflicts this weekend - Smith College ringing and Kira's handbell event.

I'm hoping for about 6-8 helpers, preferably folks who are solid plain hunting from any bell, when others are lost, and comfortable ringing plain minor methods.  A few more experienced ringers who can stand behind and coach would be much appreciated.

The format would be:
1.  Roughly 2 hours
2.  Alternating "demo" ringing and practice for students.
3.  Demo touches might be 5 minute touches on 5,6,7 or 8 bells.  Some might include a student tenoring behind.
4.  Practice segments would include one or more students, and include plain hunting, basic R&CC (calling UP), switcheroo, firing, etc.  We will likely also include some simple rounds on 8 and 10, possibly simple R&CC on 8.

If we have enough people who can ring up and down in peal reliably, we will include some practice doing that as well.

I know this is a big ask for a venue that hasn't been very accommodating for outside ringers.  These practices are possible because we are preparing for a ringing tour, the other students are off campus on break, and I'm now being allowed to "sponsor" outside ringers on campus.  Hopefully it will lead to a little more latitude for ringing in the future.

Please respond directly to me, rather than to the list.

Thanks,
Greg Russell
