Hi all,

We've had the request below from the vicar at Old North. Let's give a little thought to something we can do to mark the occasion; I'm open to ringing 70 times, but would prefer to keep well clear of tolling.

Anyway, open to suggestions. I'd like to get back to them with plans, if any, early next week.

Thanks!

Dale

Dear Dale,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to alert you to a celebration we will be holding at Old North on Sunday, June 5. Our service will be a Celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee (as well as Pentecost).

This is the weekend that the festivities will be especially robust in the UK, and there will be related events here in Boston as well. Later that afternoon on June 5 there will be a special ceremonial flag raising and program at the USS Constitution. Both the British Consul General and the Royal Naval Attache to the United States will be participating in our service at Old North.

The British Consul General wondered if the ringers might be up for doing something special. He thought maybe ringing 70 times. I leave that up to you and the band, but thought you would definitely want to know of our plans.

I have attached our invitation/announcement in both PDF and JPG, which you can share with the band and among other friends and colleagues. There is a hyperlink in the PDF for any who might want to attend and register.

The link is also here: https://rsvp.church/r/ThNRigfN

Feel free to email or call with questions, ideas, concerns, etc.

Best,

Matthew+
