A Free Concert to Welcome Back the Arts
Aug 27, 7:00PM, DCR Hatch Memorial Shell

Has there ever been a better time for “Ode to Joy” than right now? Join us for this FREE performance at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell, presented with H+H’s signature freshness. It’s time to reconnect with friends, family, and the music we’ve all missed. This concert is free and open to all, no registration required.

Marin Alsop, renowned Music Director Laureate of the Baltimore Symphony, Principal Conductor of Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, and Chief Conductor of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, will lead the H+H Orchestra, Chorus, and members of its Youth Chorus in her H+H debut.

You’ll also hear the historic US premiere of a new adaptation of the “Ode to Joy” text by Tracy K. Smith, former United States Poet Laureate and a native of Massachusetts. Originally planned for Carnegie Hall, its premiere was a casualty of the arts shutdown – now you’ll be the first to hear it as we celebrate the performing arts’ return.
