Re: Plans for automated bapc?

Thanks, Ben! This looks very good. Some questions:

Can I just see the calendar of events? When I clicked on your link I
think it wanted me to add the bapc Google calendar to my calendar, but I
don't use Google calendar. Nevertheless, it might be nice to see a
calendar version of the events.

I guess there are some questions about what to include in the weekly
email. The entries that will be included need to be known about
specially by the script, whereas anything else can be left unprocessed
and go in some page of info. I would suggest the entries to be included
are Date, Time, Location, Speaker and Zoom link. Maybe URL, but see
below. I think these should be listed in some way in the example in
such as "Speaker's name (affiliation)", "Zoom link if any" and so on.
Or something like that.

I haven't seen the calendar, but I suppose there must be a place to
click on the listing to get the details like the abstract. Maybe a link
to that page should appear with each event in the weekly email. Then
you can get the abstract and anything else that the poster submitted,
including a URL that links to more details at their own site if they
choose.

I don't know whether anyone should be able to submit. It could be
abused, but on the other hand if not there is a hassle the first time
anyone wants to submit. This could be a person filling in for the usual
submitter who is sick. Similarly I'm sure you should be able to delete
and modify your own postings. I'm not sure if anyone should be able to
modify and delete them. I would be unfortunate to have a talk be
canceled with no way to remove it from the calendar because the person
who posted it isn't available. But we also don't want vandals removing
talks.

Thanks again, Ben.
