Hi Everybody, I sent an email regarding graduate student awards. Some of you have already replied to this (many thanks!) I would like to give you a bit more of information of what is needed. I will submit the application online for you, but I would need the following information: 1) The name of the award you would like your student to be nominated for. I compiled the list of awards with their corresponding description that can be applicable to our students (see attachment). 2) Nominee Name 3) Department ok, I assume it is Physics (this include Astronomy), but in case you want to nominate a student from another department you collaborate with, please indicate the department. 4) Year in Program (1 to 7) 5) Degree Path (typically PhD) 6) Name of Nominator (that's you!) 7) E-Mail: 8) Nominator Department: 9) Other (I don't know what can of "other" you could have, but anyway, the form has space to write something there in case you need. 10) Statement of support. That's the most important thing. If more than one of you propose the same candidate, I will merge the statement (to make it stronger) and will show it to each nominators of this student before submitting material. The form doesn't have space for attachment. I will therefore have to cut and paste your text to the field available in the form. Please avoid special character, tabulation and page format as this will likely be destroyed anyway by the cut-and-paste procedure. I need to submit all this by the 2nd of April, but I would like to do it for the 29 of March as I will be out-of-town from the 30th to the 2nd and want to allocate time to fine tune the support, if more than one person nominate the same student. Of course, you are invited to send me the material as soon as possible. I thank you in advance for your help, and your student are even more thankful than I am ;-) All best, Hugo
