To: All Faculty, All Campuses From: Mary Lee, Office of the Provost Re: Faculty Grants for Collaboration and Innovation! In order to foster ongoing innovation and collaboration in teaching and scholarship, the Office of the Provost introduced two new seed grant programs in December 2010,
Tufts Collaborates! and Tufts Innovates! Through these new programs, the university is funding 30 seed grants during the 2011 – 2012 academic year for activities that break new ground. The Office of the Provost is now pleased to announce its request
for applications for competitive seed grants for activities during the 2012 – 2013 academic year through:
• Tufts Collaborates! for interfaculty scholarship/research; and • Tufts Innovates! for creative teaching and learning. Goals of the seed grants are to: • Ignite collaboration among faculty members across disciplines; and • Catalyze innovative ideas for student learning. Seed grant awards are expected to range from $500 to $50,000. A peer-review process will evaluate each proposal for its specific merit, potential for impact, and the degree to which the proposal
adheres to the goals of the seed grant programs. Questions regarding the
Tufts Collaborates! grants may be directed to Dr. Kirby Johnson in the Office of the Vice Provost at
collaborates tufts edu.
Tufts Innovates! grants will be overseen by the office of Associate Provost Mary Lee, and questions may be directed to
innovates tufts edu.
The deadline for proposal submissions is January 27, 2012. For more information and guidelines on these seed grant programs, please go to Teaching and Research at
